Were you at Frontera: Women of the Wall Friday night? The VR Club was. Frontera is a collaboration between the World Building Institute, Pigeon Hole Productions, and Cali Baja. The event showcases what the world might look like in 20 years.
The UCSD VR club was asked to be the centerpiece of the event. Of course, we jumped on this amazing opportunity! We managed to set up 4 HTC Vive stations—a huge accomplishment given the amount of power and the space required for a single Vive.
We had a lot of artistic-minded guests trying out the HTC Vive for the first time, and they weren’t the only ones to experience a first with the HTC Vive. Some of our new VR Club officers got to try giving demos for the first time too!
We offered guests the choices of theBlu, Tilt Brush, Job Simulator, and two student-created projects, CellVR and Mahou no Bazooka. Each guest had the chance to demo two of these.
Thanks so much to Trisha Williams, Joseph Unger, Adriana Eguia, Neil Kendricks, Carlos Pelayo, Geoffrey Long, Alex McDowell, Alejandra Phelts, Patty Rangel, and Rebecca Webb for making all of this possible!
